Whatever happened to Street Fighter II?

There was news of it, as far as what I knew it had actually been confirmed according to a news report on IGN's Film Force website. Yet nothing has been heard of the production for a long time. I mean sure the first movie was a complete and utter disaster but still, disppearing movies that is just crazy. Still it's not the first time.

There apparently was an animated series too. Well by apparently I mean that there was was an animated series. I was doing a little research for Street Fighter II on IMDb.com and came accross it. Check out my search results:

I sat the entire way through Street Fighter in the hope that Kylie Minogue would somehow lose all her clothes in a fight although sadly it never came to pass. Maybe they could use that as the storyline for Street Fighter II?
